Unashamed of her body, confident of her situation, defiant with her arched-brow expression, Frank's character is aggressively in control of her sensuous world. Unquestionably a reflection of the artist's sexual fantasies, "Golden Girl" is nevertheless more than a painted centerfold. While he has depicted numerous females in distress or as secondary decorations, he has drawn an equal number as the center of command, as warriors and saviors with the male in a servile role. Occasional accusations of sexual exploitation (usually misguided and largely based on his use of nude figures) ring false when the whole of Frazetta's art is examined. In his fantasy works everyone can be the victim of some horror, just as everyone, men and women, can be heroes or objects of desire."
