"Vintage , Collectible , Rare THE HUNGARIAN BULLWHIP New Condition 10 feet in length The description of “ringed” (“karikas” in Hungarian) is originated from the fact that this type of whip is often - although not universally – made with the spinning ring inserted to the tiller to strengthen it. The bullwhip usually used by the Hungarian horsemen, it is the badge and crest of their craftsmanship, but it is also used by other Hungarian shepherds. The whip is artistically decorated with cravings, braided straps, flourishes, and butterflies. The bullwhip made up of many parts, and a wide variety of terms used for each part, depending on the part of the country. Generally speaking, the name of the leather strap, tightly tied to the handle is called the “telek.”. The ropes around the bullwhip’s base are made from 6, 8 or 12 pieces of thin leather straps, hand-made by the shepherd.
